Pixie the Lazy Kitty

It’s time for some Pixie pic spam! I take a lot of photos of my cat Pixie – I mean look at that face?! She’s so cute and silly. But most of all she’s really lazy.
Lately I’ve been finding her on my pillow when I wake up!
Even though there’s a box just for her behind her.. she preferred to check out this basket instead.

One of Pixie’s favorite things is plastic sacks. (I always supervise her when she’s in one for safety reasons of course.) I think she loves the sound of the crinkle!

After a long day of doing absolutely nothing, Pixie crashes on the couch.

Sometimes I crash on the couch, too, and Pixie loves to snuggle!

And when I’m at my computer desk, she’s not too far away. Pixie feels nice and cozy in her kitty castle.
:+:+:+:
I hope you enjoyed this Pixie pic spam!
Do you have a pet you take a ton of photos of?

  3. I love the pic of her in the sack. My cats also love sacks, but mostly tearing them apart and waking me up.

  4. Awwww, kitties are such lazy lumps! And I just love seeing pics of Pixie on Instagram and such! That ear and that unassuming face just get me every time! <3

OMGLITZY: Salon Make-Over Already?!

Salon Make-Over Already?!

My station at work was really cute.. but it wasn’t very practical. The drawers in the dresser were not functional. I could barely get in and out of it. So now I’ve learned that when buying from an antique store always check to make sure it works 🙂
I went back to the Frisco Mercantile quite a few times looking for a replacement. After lots of measuring I finally decided on this desk. It is in great condition and most importantly the drawers open, hehe. I’m not a big fan of green, though, so I decided to give painting a try. I had never done this before so I looked on Pinterest and asked my parents for tips.
Basically, I sanded it down by hand a little bit then used a liquid sander. It was easy to just rub on with an old t-shirt. That acted as a primer and since I was going to paint it black I didn’t care too much about getting all the green off. I only did one coat of black paint. It looked fabulous! So I left that alone and did one coat of pink paint on the drawers. I liked that some of the green would show through – it looked like I distressed it and put a black glaze on it, but I didn’t – just one coat of pink was enough! The handles had a bit of green paint on them, too, so all I did was spray paint them gold. After waiting a few days I painted a clear coat on and waited a few more days before moving it into the salon.

I also bought a different mirror while at the Frisco Mercantile. The gold frilly mirror matched Trenette’s on the left and felt more exquisite. And I added some cute vintage pictures to the wall from AllPosters.com. I am really happy with how it turned out! I love using my station at work now – it’s functional and pretty!

  1. I've never seen such a cute station. Most of them are all so contemporary. It must be fun to put your own touch on what you enjoy doing! You have such an edgy look which totally bounces off your chic style of furnishings. Love it.

  2. For never having done a project like that before, you did a great job! It turned out really nicely!

  3. Ooo, love the makeover! This looks so good! I'm thinking about doing something like this to the dressers in my studio… =)

Spooky Halloween Music

This is the song found in the Beautiful Creatures trailer I posted yesterday. I’m pretty sure if I could be music I would be every song by Florence + the Machine. This song is called Seven Devils.
And if I could be a Halloween song and video this would be it! Kyary Paymu Paymu is so stinkin’ cute.. This video made me really excited for the spooky holiday.
Thanks to San Smith for posting it!
Although this isn’t a music video.. It’s a really funny parody of the Vampire Diaries done by The Hillywood Show. I love the song by Lady Gaga cleverly called “Teeth” ..
I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE VD PREMIERE TONIGHT!!!

  1. I went to a Florence + The Machine concert for my friend's birthday!! She has such a beautiful voice! And definitely a bit of a spooky, ethereal personality, in a very cool way. =)

The Vampire Diaries: Dallas Convention 2014

Last year I had attended Creation Entertainment’s Vampire Diaries Convention and had one of the best times! (You can read about it here.) These cons are a little pricey but smaller in size and run incredibly professionally. It’s a lot more intimate setting and a better chance to see/hear/meet the guests. However, Paul Wesley canceled last year, and I was super bummed because I had already met Ian Somerhalder before. So I decided to go again to try and get Stefan’s autograph added to my poster!
I wore the shirt I bought at last year’s con along with my Salvortore ring.
The convention was held at a nice hotel and had these cute standees in the dealer’s room. Since I didn’t pay for a photo op with the fellas I decided this selfie was good enough.
There was some great Vampire Diaries merch for sale including t shirts, mugs, stickers, jewelry and hats. I didn’t buy anything this time since I already have 2 shirts and a hoodie … and tons of jewelry :p
I found my seat in the panel room to watch the trivia contest and auction then saw my face on the screen!!! If you used the hashtag TVDDallas on Instagram they were posting the pics of fans on the screens! How cool is that!
The guest list was great but most were only coming on specific days. Since I was only attending on Saturday I got to see Stefan and Damon and Haley (Phoebe Tonkin). Haley was a werewolf on VD and also on The Originals. I was bummed that I couldn’t meet Michael Trevino (who played Tyler Lockwood) because he was only attending Sunday. Oh well.
And here is Stefan and Damon!! I was so excited to finally see Paul Wesley! He was hilarious!! His character on VD is so serious all the time that it was a nice treat to see him more relaxed and make jokes. Ian Somerhalder was his usual “I’m so hot” self that he was kinda annoying to be honest. But the two together were great because they called each other “brother” and really seemed like good friends.
I couldn’t take any pictures while getting Paul Wesley’s autograph, but he was super super super super cute. Oh my god. He was so handsome!! When it was almost my turn I asked the lady in front of me if I looked okay then tried to remember to breath normally. I got to the table and he started signing my poster and I said how it was so nice to finally meet him since I missed him last year. He shook my hand and said thank you then I told him good luck at the Teen Choice Awards (which were the next day). Then I asked if I could shake it his hand one more time and he laughed and said sure. 😀 😀 😀
The Vampire Diaries will always be one of the favorite TV shows, and I think it’s the neatest thing that I’ve had the opportunity to meet several of the cast members. I only need Tyler, Alaric, Jenna, and Elena’s autograph to have my poster finished.
:+:+:+:+:
Are you Team Damon or Team Stefan?

  5. What an awesome day. It's so rad to see you take the same poster to the con and slowly get all those signatures added to it.

  6. I am going to my first TVD convention on the 19th. I am sure i am way way older than you are. I am super excited. You look so pretty! I love love love your hair. Thanks for the info on what to expect because I have no idea what to expect. HAHAH I always go to stuff just to see what it's about and end up having so much fun! <3 btw #TeamDamon i get to meet Ian too. He's so delicious. Thanks again for this beautiful post and i love love your hair i can't get over it.. I have no idea what to wear but I want to look cute in my photo. <3

OMGLITZY: Tutorial: Princess Anna Cosplay

Tutorial: Princess Anna Cosplay

Hi everyone! It’s been way too long since I posted, and what better way to come back than with a cosplay tutorial! Halloween is right around the corner, and Frozen isn’t going away any time soon so today I am sharing with you how I made my Princess Anna costume. I wore this cosplay to Animation Celebration last year and this past January I fixed it up a bit and took some better photos of it! I hope you find this tutorial helpful!

In true GlitzyGeekGirl fashion – most of these pieces were found on Amazon. 😉 I’m a “semi-homemade” kind of gal so I like to alter items. Here is what you’ll need for Princess Anna:
Light blue turtle neck – Amazon – $25
Black v-neck tank – Amazon – $8
Royal blue skirt – Amazon – $35
(This is the same skirt I used for my Ariel Little Mermaid cosplay)
Petticoat – eBay – $11
Black boots – mine are from Walmart several years ago
Luthien Wig in Warm Light Brown – Arda Wigs – $40
Blonde hair clip in extension – Sally’s Beauty Supply – $10
Olaf plushie – mine is a backpack from Zulily but you can get one on Amazon for $16
Cape – I bought mine secondhand from a Disney cosplay Facebook group, but here’s a tutorial if you’d like to make your own!
So the first thing I worked on was the black tank top. I bought an X-Large so I had room to alter it. I trimmed the bottom to be more pointed and also changed the neckline a bit with a few small hand stitches. Then I painted a trim around the edges with gold paint.
To add the detail to Anna’s shirt and skirt I used fabric pant and free-handed the designs. I also added some jewels to make it pop.
Back!
Front!
It was a little difficult to get this symmetrical. So I recommend taking your time and having a reference photo nearby.
The skirt was easy to paint, but also time-consuming since it’s so large. Thankfully, Pixie Kitty was a great helper.
I laid wax paper underneath the skirt so the paint wouldn’t bleed through. Then I traced half a kitchen bowl to get the shape of the bottom design and filled it in with light blue paint.
The green and pink flowers were done with puff paint and jewels. My green paint was a little darker than my liking so if you can find a lighter green I’d recommend that.
My hair and makeup were my favorite things to do! The wig is very thick and didn’t show any net in the back when I parted it. I clipped the blonde piece in near the top and made sure it was covered with a little bit of the brown hair. Then I simply braided it on both sides and used a light brown rubber band at the bottom. Anna’s face is very rosy – so I gave myself pink cheeks and a few light brown freckles.

Here you can see my finished look! I’m wearing the petticoat underneath to give the skirt some fullness (but I did take out the hoop.) And if you’d like to paint your black boots with Anna’s gold design you can – I didn’t since you rarely see the boot anyway, and I use mine for other costumes. The cape was gorgeous – I would have liked to have made one myself, but I got lucky finding this one for sale on Facebook. Big thanks to April Miller for taking these pics!

Do you wanna build a snowman?

I like warm hugs, too, Olaf!

Elsa! You’ve set off an eternal winter!

Thank you so much for checking out this tutorial! I hope it helps! If you use it to make a costume for a convention or Halloween please be sure to send me a photo so I can see! And if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask.

  7. Thank you so much for this tutorial! I'll be Anna with my friend as Elsa at a party and for Halloween! I was wondering how many bottles of paint you used though, especially the blue for the skirt. When I paint my skirt, it doesn't show up nicely like it does on yours so will I need more paint? Thank you so much! You make a lovely Anna!~♡ ^_^

Pinterest Favs

Here are a few of my favorite pins/likes I’ve added to my Pinterest recently! Anyone else have a Pinterest board? I am totally addicted to it! It’s so handy and is such a great way to organize things.
I loved this idea! It’s Sailor Moon Link!
And this is kinda Sailor Moon-ish, too. I want to rock some hair buns!
This is Kat Von D .. I think she made mixing up your eyeshadows look pretty cool.

Loved this print by Simone Legno! They are kinda pricey, but I might just have to order one someday.
Does this dress remind anyone else of Rainbow Dash’s Gala dress? I love it!

And finally, these just made my mouth water! I’ve recently discovered that I love avocados! And these avocado egg rolls with creamy cilantro ranch dip would be great for a movie night. Here’s the recipe!

Star Wars LegoLand Exhibit

I was so honored to be invited to join the local 501st for the new Star Wars MiniLand exhibit at the LegoLand in Grapevine, Tx! I am not a full member of the 501st yet, but was super excited to troop with them at this grand opening. The exhibit itself was pretty cool! I had never been to LegoLand before, and the whole place was awesome!!
(Be sure to click on each photo to view it bigger)
I wore my Asajj Ventress costume!

Those guys up top were made out of Legos! Everything was! And they even lit up!

Most of the exhibit had buttons you could push to activate scenes from Star Wars.

This was amazing .. it was a picture made out of (yep, you guessed it) LEGOs!!

These were some of the members of the 501st here in Dallas. It was fun greeting kids and have photos taken with them.

Asajj has a “glitzy” side, too.. and wanted to be a pretty princess when no one was looking … hahaha

This thing was so cool .. You spin it around and it played music!

They had a whole Dallas exhibit, too. I was just in awe of it all.

Cowboys Stadium

Rangers Ballpark in Arlington
And that’s Dirk Nowitzki made out of Legos!

More members of the 501st. How awesome is that wookie? That’s Tarfful

This is probably my favorite photo.. it looks straight out of a movie 🙂

Members of the Rebel Legion were there, too. It was so much fun talking Star Wars with everyone!
I am very thankful I was able to attend this event and make new friends! Hopefully I can become a full time member of the 501st if my Asajj gets accepted. They do all sorts of charity events and other kinds activities. Definitely check them out!

Happy Things #15

June makes me happy! So do all these things:
I found this beautiful shot of my Sailor Venus cosplay on Instagram taken by @victoriahavens! I remember sitting down to take a break and having a few people ask for my photo like that. The scenery at this hotel was really pretty 🙂

June 7 was National Donut Day .. So my dad surprised me with some Dunkin Donuts at work! Yum!

I posted this on my Instagram (@glitzygeekgirl) for the Tarina Tarantino contest.. You just had to show off some of your TT bling. I didn’t win, but it was fun putting some of my favorite sparkly pieces on.

It wouldn’t be a Happy Things post without the happiest kitty of all!
Oh Pixie you are so lazy!
This is a *before* picture showing what my hair looks like when I blow dry it without a brush. It’s a huge frizzy mess!
So this is a much happier *after* picture! Thank goodness for flat irons!

And one day I used my large curling iron. It melted part of my countertop, but did a really nice job on my hair :p

This was my outfit for the Man of Steel midnight showing.

I got to see it in 3D! The movie was really good! I can’t wait for the sequel. Henry Cavill is a perfect Superman!

Baseball is my favorite sport, and I love going to the local stadium to support our team!!

I am super happy to announce one of the cosplays I am working on – Legolas! After watching The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug trailer a million times, I just knew I had to create Legolas. I’d been wanting to for awhile and now I am finally doing it! I already got the leaf brooch and a bow in the mail, too! I will post some progress pictures once I get more done.

I wore this outfit a few days ago to work. It didn’t exactly match, but I’m kinda quirky like that. It’s my Bazinga! shirt, a black dress, and blue jeans … Quirky, huh!

Today I picked up my free piece of chocolate from Godiva. You get a free piece each month when you become a member! This flavor was Mint Chocolate Chip and it was AMAZING!

While at the mall, I found this cutie! Her name of Muffin! She has a clip on her so I can attach her to my backpack. I also spent a quarter in a toy machine hoping I’d get the pink die and I did! Woot!
My next happy thing makes me SO happy! It’s Animal Crossing: New Leaf! This is for the Nintendo 3DS. I got the XL version that has a larger screen. This game IS SO MUCH FUN!! Even Pixie loves it!
If you haven’t played this before, then be warned! It’s addicting! You get to be the mayor of your own town. It’s fun because there is ALWAYS something to do. You can decorate, talk to friends, go shopping, play mini games, fish, catch bugs.. and I am sure so much more that I haven’t got to yet! Today I even went by Best Buy and downloaded the free present available through their WiFi!
My friend code is 3840-6126-6273 if you would like to add me! Be sure to leave your friend code in the comments so I can add you back!

This post was longer than I intended, but so much has made me happy lately!

Free Comic Book Day 2013

This year Free Comic Book Day fell on May 4th which is also Star Wars Day!
So this was an epic Saturday to say the least. I was able to celebrate both since I have my own salon now. I wore a Star Wars t-shirt that I bought while at Disney World, and I was able to visit Lone Star Comics on my lunch break! It was a super cool day!

They held a costume contest at the store, and this girl looked so awesome!

I tried wearing Leia buns, too!

At this location, you got to pick out three different comics! It was hard deciding which ones to get. But I love the ones I picked!

:+:+:+:+:+:
Did you pick up your free comics at your local comic store?
What are some of your favorite comics?
Did you go see Man of Steel today?

Concert Overload

So I am a little behind on blogging about all the concerts I got to see recently! Last one I blogged about was Muse. But I got to go to three more since then! First up was EdgeFest!
This was my outfit for EdgeFest. Since it is an outdoor festival I was ready for it to be hot.
And boy was it hot! I got a pretty bad sunburn.
This is the view from my seat. I don’t stand in the crowd anymore because it gets too sweaty and gross.
This guy sat in front of me and people kept asking for photos with him. I finally asked my neighbor and she said he is the lead singer for Youngblood Hawke!
I was most excited to see The Gaslight Anthem. They are definitely one of my all time favorite bands ever. I saw them once in a smaller venue and was excited to see them again at EdgeFest. Unfortunately, they didn’t play too well. Or maybe they did, but I couldn’t hear them at all. I was bummed. But do check out their music anyway, because they really are a great band!

The second band I was most excited to see was Paramore! I am a really big fan of theirs. I also got to see them a long time ago with Jimmy Eat World. That was an amazing show. And this concert was great, too. They played awesome and I already knew all the words to the songs from their new album!

Next concert was…..

Jimmy Buffett! You wouldn’t believe it from these pictures but it was literally THE NEXT WEEKEND after EdgeFest. IT WAS SO COLD! That’s Texas weather for ya, I guess. I looked stupid all bundled up when everyone around me was wearing hula skirts and coconut bras, but when the sun went down it was freezing cold! Then everyone wished they had bundled up like me.

This place was packed. It was also at the same venue as EdgeFest.

Jimmy Buffett was on my Dad’s list of concerts he has always wanted to see. I am so glad I got to go with him!

On the way back to our car I found a lonely coconut bra. So I had to take it home with me!

I think it looks great 😀
And the next concert was…….

The Killers! This band was on my Mom’s list! It was at the Verizon Theatre. I had never been to a concert there before, and I was really impressed with the place.

I found this awesome couch in the lounge room, too!

We had great seats and the sound was amazing. The vibe of this show was incredible. And the lead singer was SO CUTE.

During the show they shot confetti at the crowd. On Twitter, the band said that somewhere in the confetti are two “golden tickets” … If you find one bring it to the sound guy in the back and you get to win an AWESOME prize!

We looked and looked but didn’t find a golden ticket. It was still so much fun!
:+:+:+:+:+:+:
I don’t have any more concerts planned at the moment. Someday I would like to see No Doubt, Florence + The Machine, and Mumford & Sons. I like music that I can sing along with 🙂
What band would you like to see in concert?

Texas Rangers Game 2014

Last week I went to a Texas Rangers baseball game! This was my third visit to a Rangers game but my first time to go with my dad. We are really big baseball fans, and he and I watch it on TV together all the time. I always told him that if I ever won the lottery I would buy season tickets for us.
We pulled up to the stadium and saw this cute noodle outside 😛

Once we got inside, we were given this free garden gnome and cinch bag. The first 15,000 fans received the gnome – it was one of the reasons we picked this night to go! I can’t wait to add him to my fairy garden.
We got there really early so we didn’t have to mess with traffic so the stadium was pretty empty. It was very peaceful actually.

Since we had time to kill, we decided to walk around. This was a view of the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in the distance. Doesn’t it look like a spaceship?
We were excited to find the Captain Morgan Club because above it is where Rangers Live broadcasts before the games. Mark McLemore even came to the window and waved at us! He played for the Rangers from 1995-1999.
I also loved this giant piggy bank. Look at his little hat 😛

The best part of a ball game is the food. We had a few hot dogs and this huge pretzel!
Later on we treated ourselves to some dessert. I got a cookies n cream waffle cone and my dad ordered a root beer float.

This was a cool pic from behind home plate.

Our seats were further back behind third base, but we were still able to see and enjoy the game. I was so happy to have witnessed a home run by Robinson Chirinos and the Rangers won 2-1!

I had the best time and loved every minute of the game. Baseball is my absolute favorite sport! The season is over now, but I hope we get to attend more games next year. I’d also like to travel and watch a Chicago Cubs game with my dad some day.

One Direction Concert – Dallas 2014

A few weeks ago I went on an adventure to see the band One Direction perform! I became a Directioner after seeing the guys perform Story of My Life on SNL. I couldn’t believe how well they sang and the song really moved me. After that I bought all their albums and was instantly hooked. So when I first heard that the Where We Are Tour was making a stop in Dallas I just knew I wanted to get tickets. I was excited to see this specific tour because I had made a playlist of their setlist and had every song memorized!
The concert was held at AT&T Stadium which is where the Dallas Cowboys play football. I had never been to this stadium before so I left really early to avoid bad traffic. I was impressed with how well they had labeled the parking lots and had no trouble finding a spot.
While waiting for the doors to open, you could shop at the merchandise tent outside. I thought this was incredibly smart because you could buy everything you wanted and take it right back to your car and not have to carry it around during the show.
I decided to buy this purple and pink shirt. It photographed kinda dark but it’s really a pretty color, and I like that it says the name of the tour at the bottom.
This is from the very back of the stadium. I loved that someone on Instagram said “bow ties are cool” .. At first I was like huh? But the backdrop totally looks like a bow tie! haha!
Since I went by myself to this concert I had to ask a stranger to take this pic for me. Luckily the place was swarming with young girls with nice mothers willing to help ^.^
I saw on Facebook that my cosplay friend Emily Ann was also at the show! So I messaged her the section I was in and she came by to say Hello!
Since Emily had amaaaazzzzing seats I asked if I could post one of the photos she and her friends took. I can’t believe how close they were to the stage! This photo didn’t require any zoom at all!
I still had a decent view from my seat and was able to see the boys pretty well when they walked along the extended stage.
During one of the songs everyone turned their phones on and the whole place lit up like the night sky. It was truly breathtaking.
I really enjoyed how funny the guys were with each other. At one time Liam let the whole audience know that Harry sleeps with his hair in a bun. And another time Niall did a great Texas accent for us!
The stage itself was very impressive. They had a fantastic light show and small fireworks went off several times. I loved it when the stage extended up into the air because I could almost believe that maybe one of them saw me ^.^
:+:+:+:
I realize not everyone is a One Direction fan, and I totally respect that. But please don’t say anything negative about my likes! I found that their concert was super professional and very entertaining. One of the best I’ve been to! It’s been exciting to watch this ‘cute boy band’ turn into some highly talented young men. They can sing SO well. And they truly never stopped thanking the crowd and looking around the entire stadium with awe. Now I am looking forward to their next album!

Anime Fest 2014

This was my second year to attend Anime Fest. The first time was in 2012 (you can view the posts here and here.) This is a very fun convention because it's similar to AKon but just a little smaller in size. I can tell it's still grown since my first visit, though. The hotel it is at is one of my favorites in Dallas – the Sheraton. I love the layout and location. Anime Fest had many guests in attendance including the band FLOW as well as several voice actors and game developers. The other best part of this con are the fan-run panels. I was happy to provide some prizes for the Disney Panel which is always a very popular one to attend!

Glitzy Geeky Confessions

Gamerwife invited bloggers to take the “Geeky Confessions” challenge so I decided to share mine with you! Be sure to head over to her page to visit the links from other bloggers that have opened up with their darkest geeky secrets :p

1. I’ve cosplayed a character I didn’t know
I had never seen The Clone Wars before cosplaying as Asajj Ventress. The story is that I really wanted to do a Star Wars cosplay but wasn’t sure who. I love the Star Wars movies and know who most of the females are in the films. I almost did Queen Amidala, but while googling more characters I came across Asajj Ventress and loved her character design. Having never seen the show, I decided to research her backstory and ended up really enjoying it. So although I had never been a fan of The Clone Wars – cosplaying Ventress turned me into one!
2. I’m not a Whovian
I’ve only seen maybe ..two entire episodes. I don’t dislike it, though. In fact, I attended Who Fest 2013 with my mom and really had fun. I think the story ideas and fandom are very creative, but as far as watching the actual show .. I’ll pass.
3. I love reading spoilers
I purposefully seek out spoilers for games, movies, and books. I frequently visit TheMovieSpoiler.com and read all the current movies as if they are short stories. And for certain TV shows I find it enjoyable to know what’s going to happen next. It’s like I have more anticipation and excitement!
4. I have a Twilight tattoo
This *should* be my most embarrassing confession. But if you know me then you know I don’t really give a frack what people think of my love for certain fandoms! So yep – I have a pretty big Twilight tattoo on my arm. I even entered a “Are you the biggest fan” contest to try and win a trip to be in the second movie. (I can’t believe I didn’t win.) I did make sure the tattoo was done so well that it doesn’t scream cheesy vampire romance. Most people don’t even realize it’s a Twilight reference. I still love it to this day.

Happy Things #25

Most of these Happy Things pics were posted on my Instagram (@GlitzyGeekGirl) but they made me so happy they’re worth blogging about, too!
I’ve been playing the new mobile game Tsum Tsum and quickly became a huge fan. My local Disney Store had these Tsums for sale, too! If you play be sure to add me so we can send hearts. My Line user ID is GlitzyGeekGirl.
Pixie would make a great Tsum don’t you think? 😛 (Did you know Tsum Tsum means “stack stack” and the underneath side of the plushies are made for cleaning your phone’s screen?)
A few weeks later I went back to the mall and got these goodies from the Disney Store.
I also finally put together my Lego Cinderella Castle. I will need to take a picture of my castle and figurines to show you how I displayed them!
This photo is from Anime Fest in the food court area of the hotel. They have large prisms up in the ceiling by the glass windows so giant rainbows spread across the floor. I hope to have my Anime Fest post up next so be sure to check back for that.

My dad treated me to IHOP one day recently where I ordered this delicious omelette with pancakes and hashbrowns. Anyone else LOVE breakfast foods? I sure do!
And lately I’ve really been enjoying the products found on Zulily. They have different specials each day and feature a lot of great clothes, kids toys, and home decor. I loved the My Little Pony and Frozen event they recently had (I got an Olaf backpack and some Funkos!) And today is a TOMS shoes event. Signing up is free and their mobile app is very easy to use.

Once Upon A Time Cosplay: Evil Queen Regina Costume

I am so excited to share with you all my Once Upon A Time cosplay of the Evil Queen Regina!!!
This cosplay is special to me because it's proof you CAN use a Halloween costume for cosplay! Anyone that says you can't is silly. Sure, I enjoy making a lot of my own stuff, but sometimes I just don't have the time or money to make an entire cosplay from scratch. I've used pieces from Halloween stores for several of my cosplays in the past. So when Costume SuperCenter contacted me about modeling one of their costumes, I couldn't have been more stoked!! Going through their gallery was a lot of fun, too. They have SO MANY to choose from for all genres and fandoms.
After narrowing it down, I finally chose the Elite Wicked Queen costume. I picked this because it's not something I would know how to make on my own. Evil Queen Regina from Once Upon A Time wears some exquisite dresses, and the time and money it would take for me to find patterns and fabrics would have been stressful. The costume came in a dress bag inside a well-packaged box.
**I chose a size Large – I'm 5'10 and about 145 pounds.**
More photos and lots of great details>>>

Glitzy’s Gamer Spotlight #2

What is your name?
My name is Nuzzle! My main characters name is Elzzun (spell nuzzle backwards 83)

When did you start playing Guild Wars 2?
Or how long have you been playing?
I started playing GW2 a little over 2 years ago! But I wasn’t an everyday player until around the time of The Killer Marionette Boss event!

What made you want to try the game?
A bunch of my IRL friends were playing it and when it went on sale it was suggested that I join them!

What’s your favorite profession to play and why?
My favorite professions is definitely my Necromancer. She was my first toon, and despite all the terrible things people said about Necromancers back when I started, I never listened and learned to really enjoy the class!  Now that Reaper is a thing I love playing her even more!

When you log into the game what is the first thing you like to do?
Usually when I log in I form up a party with my 4 daily-doing friends! Together we tackle the PvE, PvP and Fractal Dailies!

Have you bought Heart of Thorns? If so, what is your impression of the new maps and events?
If you have not bought it explain why and if you plan to.
Yes! I pre-ordered it as soon as it was a thing!  I love the new maps in HoT; they are pretty and the events are fun!  The only thing I wish was different was that the event chains weren’t so… long. It makes it hard to complete them if you don’t have a long time to be in game.

What goals have you set for yourself in game?
Right now my goal is to learn how to raid. I am working on gearing my mesmer as a DPS build. Next I’ll need to find some friends willing to teach me the ropes of the raid!

If you are in a guild you’d like to promote please tell us about it!
If you are not in one, what are you looking for in a guild?
I am in two guilds that are worth a mention.  The first real quild I was ever part of is [WPAK]. The guild has changed quite a bit since I joined and while I find myself participating less and less (even though I still rep all the time) I made MANY good friends through this guild! Plus we do missions together every week!

I would also like to shoutout to my non-rep guild DnD full of just a small amount of close friends! We’ve come a long way for a guild where we barely rep. We have a guild hall and are able to do missions which is great when I have to miss [WPAK]’S missions due to real life happenings!

Any updates or fixes you wish ANet would work on?
Eh. I’m not really one to complain about games.  My only real issue with GW2 is load screen times, but that’s not really ANet’s fault as much as the fact that I play on a laptop lol.

If you could visit IRL one of the cities of Tyria which one would you pick and why?
OH GOSH this is hard! The world is so pretty! When I first started playing Caledon Forest really stuck out to me. It might be because I love nature and hiking IRL and I think it would be fun to visit Caledon Forest and just go exploring!

Glitzy’s Gamer Spotlight #1

What is your name?
In game my main character is Audeley and on Twitch I am OMGlitzy.

When did you start playing Guild Wars 2?
Or how long have you been playing?
I started playing Guild Wars 2 about two weeks after it was launched. I took a break from the game for a few months and eventually returned full time when the Festival of the Four Winds event was live. I’ve now been playing pretty much every single day since then!

What made you want to try the game?
I was a long time EverQuest 2 player and several of my guildies were talking about the release of Guild Wars 2. I was intrigued that it didn’t come with a subscription plan, and my brother (who is also an avid gamer) said it would be a game I would likely enjoy. After I bought it and played with a few of my friends I was instantly hooked. The amazing graphics, friendly community, and simple yet effective UI really pulled me in to becoming a full time player.

What’s your favorite profession to play and why?
The very first character I made was a warrior, but the one I played the most was a necromancer. I’ve always enjoyed classes that had a companion and I usually prefer mages over heavy classes. It wasn’t until after my break that I eventually made a ranger and fell in love with their gameplay. I enjoyed the search for new pets (gotta catch ’em all!) and exploring Tyria with my trusty friend. Now with the elite specialization – Druid – I love my ranger even more!

When you log into the game what is the first thing you like to do?
I’ll usually check the trading post to see if I have any gold or items waiting for me to pick up. After that I will do the daily activities. Even after I complete three of them to get the achievement I still go on to do the others out of enjoyment. I’ll look up boss timers to see which is about to spawn and also check with my guild to see if they are organizing any fun events.

Have you bought Heart of Thorns? If so, what is your impression of the new maps and events?
If you have not bought it explain why and if you plan to.
Yes! I pre-ordered HoT the moment it became available. I was also able to participate in a few of the beta events. My first impression was this is not going to be an easy expansion. The mobs hit harder, the terrain was more difficult to navigate, and the events required a lot of teamwork. These are all good things, of course! The challenge that HoT has provided was a welcome one. The new maps and events have become slightly easier with time and experience, but still require coordination. I wish the story had a little more depth and detail to it and that some of the events were not always centered around timers, but overall I still find myself enjoying the new zones months after HoT was released.

What goals have you set for yourself in game?
I went head first into earning all the mastery points so that I could begin making Astralaria – the new legendary axe. This was a big project to take on since there wasn’t much information about the new collections yet. I worked really hard on completing everything and made Astralaria in about a month. Now that I have that done I have been taking things a bit slower. I’m working on collecting all of the Chak weapons, mapping the new zones on alt characters, completing the story achievements, and also farm gold to buy gathering nodes for my home instance.

If you are in a guild you’d like to promote please tell us about it!
If you are not in one, what are you looking for in a guild?
The guild I am in is Ethereal Guardians [EG]. I’ve really enjoyed being a part of their community because of how active it is! They have frequent events each week like raid training, guild missions, and organized world boss kills. Their TeamSpeak is always full of people chatting and willing to help, and their forums offer an excellent source of information about profession builds and fight mechanics. Overall I have felt very proud to be a member of [EG]!

Any updates or fixes you wish ANet would work on?
I like to think ANet is super busy working on a lot of great content for the game (*wink*) so I don’t typically complain too much about things that might be broken.. However, I think the LFG tool does need to be revamped and I wish my mini pet wouldn’t disappear all the time. Like many people, I’d like to see more armor skins added to the game. I don’t think enough were put in with the expansion. Recently, I was incredibly happy they added the shared inventory slots and the ability to always show hidden objects so you no longer have to hold the Ctrl key down. Yay ANet!

If you could visit IRL one of the cities of Tyria which one would you pick and why?
My first thought was I’d like to visit The Grove simply because it is so enchanting. It’s where I like to take a lot of screen shots of my characters. After thinking more about this question, though, I’d probably want to visit Divinity’s Reach. Since that was the first area I ever explored in the game it has a sense of “home” for me. To see it in real life would be truly extraordinary. I can imagine myself walking through the Central Plaza and gazing upon the entrance to the Queen’s throne room with a wonder and excitement!
