2015 Year in Review

This year I’ve been a lot less active in the blogging universe than I have been in the past. But that doesn’t mean I didn’t have a productive year! I wanted to go ahead and round up some of my favorite memories from 2015. Off the top of my head I can remember lots of fun times with my family like going to baseball and football games, an art festival, the orchestra, and traveling around Texas. So let’s jump right in and talk about a few highlights from the year!

January was amazing because I drove to San Antonio for PAX South. This is where I learned about the Guild Wars 2 expansion which basically sums up most of my life right now. All year I was hyped for news and announcements regarding the expansion – Heart of Thorns. It was a really fun journey to go on with fellow guildies. I even ventured into the world of Twitch TV where I made more friends that shared my love for the game. While I had a blast with Twitch, it was a lot more work than I anticipated. After the expansion was released I wanted to focus on the game and enjoy it for myself. I do hope to revisit my Twitch channel soon!
I saw lots of great movies this year – The Avengers: Age of Ultron, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Insurgent, The Scorch Trials, The Peanuts Movie, Mockingjay Pt 2. My absolute favorite was the new live action Cinderella movie! I still haven’t seen Jurassic World or Inside Out so those are on my to-do list.
I had a blast at the Scarborough Renaissance Festival again and made another new outfit. This year we went during the opening weekend. I’m so glad we did because it rained like crazy this spring. So we got to go while it was still dry.
My hair changed colors a lot this year. It went from Pink, to blonde, to green, back to pink, to SHAVED purple! Haha! It was a rollercoaster but that’s normal for me. I’m actually ending the year with my natural brown. We’ll see how long that lasts. *wink*
Although I didn’t attend as many comic conventions as I used to, I still managed to hit up some local ones! I went to Dallas Sci Fi Expo, Screw Attack Gaming Con, Quake Con, AKon and the Vampire Diaries Convention. My favorite was in the summer – the Dallas Comic Con – where I cosplayed as Wonder Woman. And more recently I made another Asajj Ventress costume (tutorial coming soon!) for the Dallas Fan Days in October. Here is a list of all the tutorials I posted this year:
Like I’ve said in some other posts, I plan to keep this blog active with any new tutorials. But I also made a new blog (omglitzy.com) that unfortunately didn’t get much use. I really dig the name OMGlitzy and want to use that blog space for more ramblings. I just lived in the moment this year – I didn’t take *as many* photos of things because I wanted to enjoy it all with my own eyes. I also spent a lot more time with family and friends which was great! 2015 was just a transition for me since I didn’t cosplay quite as much as before and therefore wasn’t really sure what to post here. As I grow as a blogger I am sure I’ll figure out how to use each of my blogs better.
I’m excited for next year because I kind of don’t know what to expect. I usually make a list of goals, but to be honest, it’s fun just letting the wind take me wherever it wants. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year!

P.S. Thank you also to everyone that sent well wishes to Pixie. And big hugs to those that donated to her vet fund. I’ve been posting updates about her on my Twitter, but wanted to share here that she is feeling much better! She’ll be making more frequent trips to the vet for checkups but right now all is well. She sends a loving meow your way! 🙂
