Happy Things #12

Yay! Things that make me happy!

My new Razer Kraken headset! I can hear everyone so much better! Oh we’re supposed kill the add THEN cancel the detriment?! 😉

Stoked that the CEO of Razer tweeted me!!! I was so giddy when this happened! Also, @EverQuestII tweeted me recently about Erollisi Day! I was ecstatic!

Here’s a pic my mom sent me of a Criminal Minds episode.. she said this reminded her of me! I would LOVE a desk set up like this!!

Sooo happy to have purchased the last copy at the local bookstore of Hyrule Historia. This book is so epic!

How happy does this make you?!

I am not very good at League of Legends (yet) but I was really happy to have won a match. I played a couple of months ago and just recently got back into it. My name is Audeley on there if you want to add me!

I caught a rainbow in my room the other day .. Love finding these 🙂

Happy Things #10

It’s been a Happy September so far ~ I can’t believe how fast time is going. Not much going on this month, but gosh next month is going to be fun! Some things I have to look forward to is the Zelda Symphony, the Texas Renaissance Festival in Houston, seeing my brother and sis-in-law while in Houston, and going to the Dallas Fan Days convention with Kevin. This weekend I will get to see a Rough Riders baseball game and then an FC Dallas soccer game with my dad! I’m not a huge sports person, but baseball has always been my favorite. And I’m really looking forward to the weather being nice and eating nachos. 🙂

I took this pic before I dyed my hair pink obviously. So glad it’s getting long!
My excitement for all things Zelda recently even spread to the piano. I can’t play anything, but I can poke a few keys. I learned a part of Saria’s Song. I’ll be dressing up as Skyward Sword Zelda for the next convention! I need to post pics of my progress on my costume.

The other day I picked up the last copy at my local GameStop of Guild Wars 2. I’ve always been really attached to EverQuest 2, and I have a hard time playing other games because of that. I tried Diablo III recently and never got pass level 8. But GW2 has been really fun!! It has beautiful graphics, easy gameplay, interesting story lines, and there’s always helpful players nearby. My only complaint would be the random overflow transfers. I guess it happens when too many players are on one server. There’s been times when Kevin and I aren’t in the same world so we can’t play together until one of us gets transferred. So I still prefer EQ2, but it’s been nice to play something different for a change.
That’s all for now! I got to sleep in a little today, have some hair cuts to do later, then it’s raid night on EQ2 .. Going to be a nice Wednesday 😛

Happy Things! #1

A recurring post I would like to have will feature some random things that make me happy. Properly calling these posts “Happy Things!” So here are a few I found while searching iPhoto:

My pink sparkly TOMs.

Pixie in a box.

Found this headband in a drawer the other day and can’t wait to wear it.

Happy buckets my mom got for me. I use these at work to hold my pens.

I love sitting on the balcony with Pixie. I had to put duct tape (Hello Kitty kind of course) on parts of the wall so she wouldn’t get splinters when she stretches.

Happy Things #9

Here’s the latest Happy Things post! Oh how happy these things make me! 😛
This is the sweetest little table from the Frisco Mercantile.

Eating at Casa Rita’s is fun when the little sopapillas look like butts!

The drive-thru guy at Jimmy John’s was asking about my tattoos.. and I may have batted my eyelashes a few times, too. He gave me a free cookie 😛

A little personal enjoyment is getting my nails done. I do love painting them myself but the polish never lasts with my hands always in the water.

Found this cutie on the counter at a new restaurant called Tasty Garden.

It was that time again! Free piece of chocolate at Godiva once a month with a membership. I got a strawberry truffle.
Hard to tell in the photo but these pretty trees were sprinkling their white flowers on my car while I waited in line at Starbucks.
My hair is finally getting to my shoulders.. it’s fun having longer hair for a change.

And I am super happy to have an official sign outside my salon now!

    A.) I'm sure I've said it already, but love love LOVE your hair! Seeing gorgeous purple hair everywhere makes me seriously want to add some purple next time I go in. Too bad I already have magenta, blue, light pink, and black planned… not sure if there's space for another color!

    B.) How do I not know about this Godiva membership free truffle thing?

Halloween 2014

You might think that a cosplayer would go all out on Halloween with an elaborate costume. Well that is usually not the case. Haha! I would say most of my cosplay friends actually enjoy buying either a store bought costume or wearing something more simple. For me, I have been dying to wear this Korilakkuma Kigurumi I bought at AKon. I dressed it up with my pink wavy wig from Gothic Lolita Wigs!

Most of the day I played Guild Wars 2. If only all the people I grouped with that day knew what I was wearing behind the computer! lol
Even my character in game was dressed up for the Halloween festivities.

My family and I ordered pizza. Yum! My favorite!

Finally, that evening we were ready to hand out the candy bags my mom and I made. Each bag had several candy bars and crackers and other sweets in them.

I had a lot of fun giving out candy to the kiddos! One parent asked if I was a polar bear. But most of the kids said they liked my outfit. There was a block party going on down our street so once that ended all the kids came to the door at once. It kinda bummed me out because they were rushing and I was rushing and I didn’t get to see their costumes very well. I do remember three kids were dressed as crayons. I think they were my favorite!

    You look so cute! I want to get a Kigurumi (but I'm secretly waiting for a Catbug one…hope they make it LOL).

    I missed Halloween as I was driving across the country from CA to FL! I was sad to miss it, but the trip was fun!

    I totally thought that was your own hair at first! That onesie is very cute. 🙂 I dressed as Other Coraline for Halloween, spent quite a bit of time making button eyes.

    I was supposed to be going out for pizza and then to a Halloween party in a local bar, but I developed a migraine from hell so I took loads of pics of myself and stayed in and watched Nightmare on Elm Street instead. 🙂

    I did! I dressed up as a kittygirl like I usually do. Quick, easy and fun! -^^- My parents went out so I was home doing battlestation at the door. Only got one sole child, though. 🙁

    Adorable. I have a couple of Kigu's but for Halloween I ran around as Louise. Right now it's been freezing in San Francisco so I have been wearing my Dino kigu. They are so warm!

Halloween 2013 – Saw Doll Makeup

For Halloween this year I decided to do my makeup like the doll from the horror movie Saw! I actually wanted to do this makeup for a long time and almost did this for Dallas Fan Days. This was my first time ever trying it, and I think it came out pretty good! I basically followed the steps found in this YouTube video. I didn’t have red contacts so my eyes are photoshopped in this first photo 🙂
Here’s how I did my makeup!
Start out with a blank canvas.

First, I used my white color stick by MAC and dabbed it all over like you do concealer or foundation. Then I used a big brush to blend it all over my face. This made it kind of sheer and looked more natural than Halloween face paint.

I kinda forgot to take step by step pictures after that. But next I did my eyes. I just put on a lot of eyeliner and used an eyeshadow brush to apply lots of black and grey shadow.

I also added some contour lines from my eyebrows down the side of my nose. Don’t make these lines too thick!! A little is good! Then I used my red eyeshadow to make the swirls on my cheeks and my black eyeliner for the lines on my chin. The red shadow is also what I used on my lips since I couldn’t find any red lipstick. 
Next, I teased my hair with my teasing comb until it looked like a birds nest 😛 Then I hairsprayed it into place. You want it to be messy so don’t try too hard here 🙂
Finally, wear all black with a white collared shirt and add your red bow tie! I didn’t have a black blazer so I just wore one of my zip up jackets. The bow tie is a hair bow I’ve had since I was little that I safety pinned on. And I got my spider web tights from Target 🙂

I will stab you with my bread knife! 

My mom and dad gave my Kit Kats and Reese’s for Halloween! These are my favorite candies 🙂

That evening we went to the mall to get 50 cent corn dogs from Sonic.

I got a lot of compliments on my makeup! I’m sure I spooked a few kids, too.

    Also, that's a ton of candy! Awesome! And I'm jealous about the corn dogs. I saw a commercial for those late on Halloween night, after I'd already eaten and called it a night. Oh well. Maybe next year!

    I feel like such a stalker knowing exactly what mall that is! I think we probably live 15 minutes away from each other. I live close to Willowbend.

    That being said, I love this! The purple was definitely a good touch. I can't wait to see what you're doing for SciFi Expo. I'm hoping to have my Weeping Angel costume finished by then.

Blue, purple & pink hair

So I recently colored my hair all over blue.. but have been washing it with hot water because I thought it was too dark. So then it turned purple and pink! But just an FYI… I bleached it out this evening so stay tuned for another hair post later on!

And this is a pic I saw in a magazine at the salon of the length I’d like my hair to get to. Growing it out is hard so I need inspiration 😛

Hair by Anna Lee

As some of you may know – I do hair! I was rooming with some friends for awhile but a month or so ago I got my own salon room! It’s a huge accomplishment, and I am so proud to have my own business. Decorating the room was a lot of fun, and I have another post about how I made the pink shelves with the brackets on the wall. I am so thankful my clients have followed me to my new salon. Going to PAX Prime in Seattle!

Howdy everyone! Just giving a quick little update about where I will be this weekend! I am headed to PAX Prime tomorrow! I won’t have time to update my blog while I am away, but I do post a lot on my Instagram.. which happens to be synced with my Facebook and Twitter page. So if you follow any of those you’ll be able to see my updates!

This is my first time ever going to PAX Prime and also to Seattle! I won a 4 day badge from Grimm Bros! I’ve already warned my family that I might not return to Texas because I just know I am going to love Seattle so much ^.^ They’ve heard me talk about going there for years! So I can’t wait to finally check it out. PAX Prime is a huge gaming convention located in downtown Seattle. I hope to explore some cool parts of the city, and also geek out over super awesome games at the con!

Also, for this convention I made a new cosplay! This is Annie from League of Legends! I will be wearing Annie on Saturday. Then on Sunday you can find me dressed up as Ramona Flowers from Scott Pilgrim vs The World. I got a new wig for Ramona so I am excited to wear both of these costumes this weekend.

My new wig is from Arda. This is a Greta in Cobalt Blue that I cut and styled myself. My wig for Annie is also from Arda.. it is a Jareth in Raspberry that I also cut and styled.
I won’t be bringing my hammer to PAX (since I am flying), but I was having fun with Fiona’s battle axe in some pics. 😛
